Since I won't follow the rules anyway I'll use a Morrowind NPC to answer the questions instead. My OCs are a bit unknown because I haven't submitted that much fanfiction yet and their biographies are somewhat hollow.

*Leans forward* Anything but kwama eggs.

I rarely drink nowadays, spending my days around Therana's tower. Indoors I need my wits intact and outdoors I'd like to eliminate the risks of losing my balance and fall down. You'll understand if you visit Tel Branora.

5. Your crush/lover?
I crush my lovers, a little.

6. Aww! Have you two kissed yet?
*Shrugs* I kissed most of them.

7. Classic question! What's your favorite color?
On people or on stuff in general? *Contemplates* I like grey, or I wouldn't be in Morrowind.

8. Who's your favorite author?
I don't read that much nowadays. Therana has burned all the books.

9. Now what's your biggest fear?
I can't walk around being afraid all the time, with so many things potentially going wrong in Tel Branora. I could be afraid of getting sunstruck and falling off the tower, being burned alive by Therana, killed by a rival... so many things that I choose to ignore yet stay alert to face.

I said I take it like a man, fool.

Wait....... hmmm. What do I need a hero for anyway? Seanwen is an admirable mer, though.

Oh, I don't have just one enemy. Right now this upstart Telvanni wench is getting on my nerves. I may have to do something about her.

13. What would you do if your hero and your worst enemy got together?
Got together as in romance? Good, then that witch would move to Vivec and get out of my sight.

14. Interesting... what would you do if you met your creator?
Think I had fallen off the tower?

I am as grown as can be. Isn't that obvious to you?

16. What's your worst nightmare?
Waking up in the middle of the night with Therana at my bedside, preparing to fire off a spell. I actually think that has happened some time, but I don't like remembering it.

It's not what I'm currently doing at least. Bah, but what good are dreams for?

18. What would you do if your lifelong dream came true?
*Smiles* I wouldn't think it was worth interrupting for an interview at least.

19. Ok, where's your favorite place to relax?
Watching the slaves work down in the mine. I don't have to do anything and Therana is far away. Well, sometimes the slaves try to fight, but after a good whipping I'm actually even more relaxed than before.

20. Last question! What do you spend most of your time doing?
Protecting the Mistress and protecting myself from the Mistress.

I think truly alternate textures should be a complete departure from mine, starting from scratch and coming up with something totally different. An exception would be a set of bodies with tattoos.

For example, I intentionally stayed away from any photographic source, using only hand painting, as the original Bethesda bodies did. I think a photorealistic body might be possible and make an alternate texture that is quite different. We see this done with Rhedd's heads to good effect.

I found this in a post over at Psycho Dog Studios and this is good news for me since I'm starting out fresh from the mesh itself, noticing its possibilities, while staring at photos of naked men... ahem good reference pictures, until my eyes bleed. All other retextures I've seen have basically been high resolution varieties of the original BB textures. At least the rare MALE ones. Female retexture projects seem to spawn like cliffracers.

So naturally I will NOT do female bodies! I will retexture some of Bethesda's female heads, though. I've just reinstalled the game and this time I'm not using any head packs.

After some discussion with I've decided to at least try to make my own textures for Better Bodies for Morrowind. I'm not modifying any current textures, but working from scratch from an exported UV-map, a grid of sorts that guides me. I will not look too much at the other textures in fact. There are some reasons for this: They're not that appealing to begin with, however detailed they are and they have anatomy issues. I will TRY to do some visual corrections, but I can't do anything with the mesh.

So, today I have exported the UV-map (it took a while because I had to export all body parts individually and then merge them) and started to work on placement on the front of the torso. A picture of my current progress is here: [link]

It's not grey because I'm making a Dunmer texture, even if that's something you would suspect from me. I'm rendering it in greyscale so I can easily modify the colours for the different races.

Now I need reference pictures!

EDIT: Now I've worked a bit more on the placement lines: [link] It's quite different to the other BB textures, in fact, but I think it will work. I'll replace one of the active textures with it later to see how it works along with the animations. This stage is quite important to get right so I don't start painting the skin wrong. I'm using photos and Robert's Oblivion bodies as reference.
